I have two great passions here in Berlin: the incredible beer scene here which mixes both new and old styles, as well as the phenomenal amount of history that can be found on every street corner.
On the beer side of things my interest and learning has been growing exponentially over the last few years that I’ve been here. I am certified by the Cicerone (i.e. beer sommelier) Certification Program from the US, and am continually learning and undertaking further testing to improve my certification level.
My journey to find my own personal favourite beer has also led me down the path of home brewing. If we’re lucky I might have some of my latest creations to share with my groups!
My background in history comes from when I studied history at University back in Melbourne, focusing particularly on the history of the twentieth century. Berlin, as you could imagine, is one of the most important cities on the planet in terms of its impact on the world over that time. It is truly incredible to see so many remnants from so many different kingdoms, empires and regimes left in the heart of the city.
